The debate whether or not hook-and-loop is a too noisy closure system for magazine pouches has been raging for decades. Some feel that little ripping sound is an outright deadly problem, some feel it doesn’t really matter at all.
But feelings are not facts. We set out to find the fact of the matter through the means of scientific testing!
No matter if you love or hate hook-and-loop: Our lidded magazine pouches use a combination of a tuck-tab and hook-and-loop to secure the lid, with a sewn-in silencer allowing you to “deactivate” the hook-and-loop for silent operation. Wonderful!
Updated guide to my last Immich install video. The app install process has changed a bit so I made a 2024 refresh. Immich is one of, if not the, most used self-hosted photo app out there. Die Doku zeigt erst ein Interview mit Luhmann aus dem Jahr 1973, worin er seine Theorie in Grundzügen erläutert. Durch die gezielten Fragen von Ulrich Boehm erhält auch der Zuschauer, der sich noch nicht mit Luhmanns Theorie beschäftigt hat, einen Einblick in deren Leitgedanken. Der zweite Teil der Doku zeigt eine „Philosophie heute“ Sendung aus dem Jahr 1989 über die Ökologie-Debatte.
Da ich ein Möchtegernsoziologe bin und kein Englischlehrer, bitte ich die unsaubere Übersetzung an einigen Stellen zu entschuldigen. Es gibt von N. Luhmann Veröffentlichungen in englischer Sprache von ihm selbst. Es ist besser, sich dort über die Systemtheorie zu informieren als in dieser in deutscher Sprache verfassten Dokumentation, die zudem für Nichtsoziolog:innen gemacht wurde und daher auch nicht wirklich alles anspricht, was dazu gehört.
The documentary shows first an interview with Luhmann from 1973, in which he explained his theory main features. By pointed questions from Ulrich Boehm also gets the audience, who has not yet dealt with Luhmann’s theory, an insight into their guiding principles. The second part is from the „Philosophy Today“ show in 1989. Luhmann on the ecology debate.
Since I am a wannabe sociologist and not an English teacher, I apologize for the inaccurate translation in some places. There are publications by N. Luhmann in English by himself. It is better to find out about systems theory there than in this documentation written in German, which was also made for non-sociologists and therefore does not really address everything, what goes with it.

Ein Scharfschütze entscheidet im Ernstfall über Leben und Tod. Phillip (31) vom Panzergrenadierbataillons 112 in Regen hat ein hohes Verantwortungsbewusstsein und reflektiert seinen facettenreichen Job bei der Bundeswehr. Nein, mit „American Sniper“ hat der Alltag als Scharfschütze bei der Bundeswehr nichts zu tun. Und auch sonst läuft die Arbeit von Phillip anders ab als im Kinofilm: Zu seinen Aufgaben als Scharfschütze gehört nicht nur das Schießen auf Distanz. Das Orientieren mit Kompass und Karte ganz ohne digitale Hilfsmittel ist genauso Teil seiner Arbeit wie das lautlose und unerkannte Annähern, Beobachten, Aufklären und Schützen der eigenen Truppe. Und ja, beim Bundeswehr-Jargon „kampfunfähig machen“, „rausnehmen“ oder „ausschalten“ geht es um Menschenleben.
Phillip ist Soldat auf Zeit und hat sich für 12 Jahre verpflichtet (SaZ 12). Mittlerweile ist er Stabskorporal, hat also den höchsten Rang in der Mannschaftslaufbahn erreicht (mehr dazu im angepinnten Kommentar) und arbeitet auch als Hilfsausbilder. Wir haben ihn bei einer sogenannten Annährungsübung begleitet. Das Training für die verdeckte Annäherung ist ein zentrales Element der Ausbildung zum Scharfschützen. In diesem Training muss Phillip in einer vorgegebenen Zeit mit seinem Gepäck von etwa 20 Kilo mehrere Kilometer im Wald zurücklegen, sich unerkannt einem Ziel annähern und in einer maximalen Entfernung von 400 Metern eine freie Schussbahn finden.
Es geht durch ein sumpfiges Waldgebiet, das stark mit Dornenbüschen bewachsen ist. Tiefe Wassergräben und Bäche muss er durchwaten und viel Geduld für die perfekte Schießposition mitbringen. Mückenstiche, Dornenkratzer, nasse Stiefel – das gehört für Phillip zum Arbeitsalltag dazu.
